I have always loved Valentine’s Day! It may be my favorite Holiday…except I love every Holiday and I love to celebrate life in general!
I loved decorating our shoe boxes in elementary school and the excitement of friends filling the box with cards and candy!!
Then in Middle School and High School sending and receiving red, pink and white carnations. So happy to watch someone receive a Valentine’s flower you sent, and the thrill of receiving carnations from friends and an admirer or secret crush! Oh the extra fun if you were sent a singing Valentine!! You’ve got the cutest little baby face was a favorite!
I loved picking out the perfect red or pink outfit for the day!! I think it was the one day I was never tardy!?
As a young Mother, I loved dressing my daughters for Valentine’s Day. I loved decorating the house in pink and red and helping my girls decorate and take the perfect treats to their friends at school.
I always made sure to help plan their class party and it was pure joy to spend that part of Valentine’s Day with them and their friends in school!
Fast forward to being an empty nester… I have the most loving, thoughtful husband who always takes care to make sure my Valentine’s Day is filled with beautiful tulips, a delicious Heart shape box of See’s Candy and a special present. All followed by a romantic dinner out! Ladies I am a truly blessed Bunny to say the least.
Even with all that he does…I missed the Valentine’s parties at school and also with the girl’s friends and my friends.
So years ago I began giving a Ladies-only Valentine’s Party ! The perfect answer for the mid-winter blues!! I dubbed this party Cocktails and Cupcakes with dinner in between!!
Bunny has hopped around a lot since the days of my first Valentine parties in Houston. Somehow I always manage to give some version of my original parties. We have lived in New Orleans, Dallas, Fort Worth and now San Antonio.
This party still gives me all the Valentine feels of elementary school, middle school, High School and when my girls were young.
I love entertaining my friends and gifting a beautiful, fun, relaxing evening of friendship, delicious food and school girl Valentine fun !!
This party keeps me young at heart!
I love decorating for it, I fill my large pink transfer-ware with the pink, red and white carnations to remind me on Valentine’s Days gone by. It’s the best day spent cooking for it and seeing my friend’s faces when I open the door to greet them with a beautiful glass of champagne rimmed with pink and red sugars!
I am so looking forward to being able to entertain again!!
I thought I would share some photos of parties past.
Next up I will share my menu. I hope when we can all entertain again you decide to join me in gifting your friends a beautiful evening with laughter, friendship and love!❤️?
